Groups
A group is an ordered collection of supported library entities or media ranges. A group has its own metadata and identity; it is not just a saved search or an implicit tag match.
Record model
Section titled “Record model”Group metadata can include a name, aliases, date, duration, studio, director, synopsis, tags, URLs, artwork, ordering, and whether it appears alongside video lists. Groups can contain subgroups and can themselves belong to other groups.
Supported items include videos, video ranges, images, audio, text, groups, performers, studios, tags, galleries, faces, and segments. Each membership preserves an order and can include a title or notes. A video-range item can carry start and end times without creating a sub-video record.
The group’s allowed host types constrain which item kinds belong in that collection. Membership does not transfer the group’s metadata to its items.
Static and dynamic groups
Section titled “Static and dynamic groups”A static group stores curated memberships. A dynamic group stores a query source, resolves membership from rules or activity, and records resolution metadata such as a cached item count. Both use the group identity and can participate in group relationships.
