Raw segments
A raw segment is a stored point or time range attached to one video, image, or audio host. It preserves source-level timing and meaning before display rules combine or suppress records.
Record model
Section titled “Record model”A raw segment identifies its host and start time, with an optional end time. It can also carry a tag, kind, external reference, structured payload, source key, source run, confidence, title, color hint, and image reference.
An absent end represents a point. On video and audio, a start/end pair represents a timed interval. Images can host point-like segment data for annotations or detections even though they have no playback timeline.
Sources
Section titled “Sources”Users, metadata providers, analyzers, and extensions can create raw segments. SourceKey identifies the producer class, while a source run can tie records to one execution. Confidence and payload let downstream display rules interpret automated output without flattening it into manual metadata.
Resolution
Section titled “Resolution”Display profiles filter raw segments by source, kind, tag, category, host type, confidence, or duration. Rules can hide, merge, collapse, recolor, prioritize, or lane qualifying records. The resulting display-ready unit is a segment; the raw records remain the provenance-bearing input.
