Performers
A performer is a reusable person or identity record associated with media. One performer can connect many items without repeating identity metadata on each item.
Record model
Section titled “Record model”Performer data can include a name, disambiguation, aliases, dates, measurements, gender or identity values, career information, details, favorite state, tags, URLs, remote IDs, custom fields, and imagery. Which fields are populated depends on manual editing and metadata providers.
Relationships
Section titled “Relationships”Videos, images, galleries, audio, and text can relate to performers. A relationship can carry contextual tags for that occurrence without adding those tags to every appearance or to the performer globally. A dated media item can derive age-at-date from performer date information without storing that derived display value as the performer’s current age.
Identity and provenance
Section titled “Identity and provenance”Aliases help search and matching; remote IDs connect the local record to provider-specific identities. Neither should be treated as a globally unique name. Imported fields can retain provenance independently, so one record may combine manual and provider-sourced values.
