Studios
A studio is a reusable organization, publisher, label, or source associated with media and groups. It supplies a shared identity rather than merely repeating a studio name on each item.
Record model
Section titled “Record model”A studio can have a name, details, aliases, a parent studio, tags, URLs, remote IDs, custom fields, and imagery. Provider metadata and local editing can populate different fields with independent provenance.
Relationships
Section titled “Relationships”Media records generally reference zero or one primary studio. Groups can also reference a studio, and studios can form parent-child structures for labels, networks, or subsidiaries. A free-text studio code on a video is a catalog value and does not replace the studio relationship.
Identity and lifecycle
Section titled “Identity and lifecycle”Aliases improve matching while preserving one local identity. Remote IDs are scoped to provider endpoints and should not be assumed to identify the same organization across unrelated providers. Renaming a studio keeps its existing relationships; merging or deleting it changes shared organization across the library.
